Animal Rescue Friends
When an animal is impounded, Animal Rescue Friends (ARF) tries to identify an owner by checking for ID tags and scanning for a microchip. Volunteers also read "Lost" ads in local newspapers to see if anyone has advertised a similar pet.
If the pet's owner cannot be located, ARF will often place a "Found" ad in local newspapers. ARF will sometimes place flyers in public areas and make phone inquires. Unclaimed animals are placed in temporary housing and put up for adoption.
For more information on ARF, please download the brochure below or view their website at www.animalrescuefriends.com .
