City of Nichols Hills Privacy Statement

This statement is made in compliance with the Oklahoma Government Website Information Act. 
 
In the course of performing its many functions—including the services of its police, fire, emergency management, and public works departments and the many administrative services provided by the City Manager’s office—the City of Nichols Hills must necessarily collect “personally identifiable data” about individuals which data it then stores and on occasion must share, as described below. 
 
What personally identifiable data does the City of Nichols Hills store? Oklahoma law defines “personally identifiable data” as “information which can identify an individual,” which includes many types of information about an individual and information that is “linked or linkable to an individual.” For the City of Nichols Hills’ purposes, “personally identifiable data” that could be needed from you could include your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number(s), birth date, Social Security number, official state- or government issued driver license or identification number, alien registration number, employer or taxpayer identification number, financial information, and employment information.
 
How does the City of Nichols Hills store personally identifiable data?  The City of Nichols Hills securely stores all personally identifiable data on its server and takes all reasonable steps to safeguard the integrity of that date and to prevent corruption of and unauthorized access to it.
 
With whom does the City of Nichols Hills share personally identifiable data? The City of Nichols Hills only releases personally identifiable data when allowed or required to do so by applicable law, such as in relation to municipal court actions and when requested by a law enforcement agency as part of an investigation. Further, you are cautioned that information collected by the City of Nichols Hills could be subject to disclosure to any Oklahoma citizen under the Oklahoma Open Records Act. (51 Okla. Stat. § 24A.1 et seq.)
 
As to your personally identifiable data, the City of Nichols Hills does not:  

• Create individual profiles of its website users.
• Share your information with commercial data-gathering firms.
• Collect any information about you on its website other than information that you voluntarily provide.
• Track which pages any single user looks at.
