Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon

The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is a truly unique event. This marathon is not about runners, it is about life. Joe Henderson, writing for Runner’s World said this after the Inaugural Memorial Marathon, “On April 19, 1995, a great wrong was done in Oklahoma City, however, on this day in April the forces of fear and hate were beaten by love and compassion.” After the tragedy of September 11, we have even more reason to come together to demonstrate our commitment to a future filled with hope.

We welcome all to challenge themselves in this celebration of life: runners, walkers, and wheelchair racers of all ability levels.

The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is a sanctioned event on a USATF certified 26.2 mile single loop course. Traffic control will be provided for at least 6.5 hours. Later finishers will be supported.

All marathon participants receive a goody bag, marathon t-shirt, poster, and heartland hospitality both on and off the course (food, beverage and availability of medical care and massage to aid your recovery). Marathon finishers also receive a finisher’s shirt and a custom marathon finisher’s medal.
