G. P. Johnson Hightower

G. P. Johnson Hightower is a native of Oklahoma City. He graduated from Casady School, received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University, and M.B.A. from the University of Oklahoma. After a year with Arthur Andersen & Co. in public accounting, he began his 37 year banking career in 1978 with the 1st National Bank & Trust Company, which his great grandfather Frank P. Johnson and great uncle Hugh M. Johnson controlled since the 1910s through the mid-1940s. His final year was with Arvest Bank. He currently manages family businesses and is co-owner of Oil Law Records Corporation.
 
G. P. has served on boards of various community organizations since 1978, including ten years on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club, where he chaired the Finance Committee, Greens Committee and Long Range Planning Committees, and served as President in 2005. He was President of Oklahoma City’s oldest social dinner/dance club, The Lotus Club, for six years, concurrent with his year as President of OCG&CC. He currently sits on the boards of The Beacon Club, Downtown Oklahoma City, Inc., McBride Foundation, the City of Nichols Hills Investment Policy Committee serving as City Treasurer, and The Mayor’s Roundtable Development Steering Committee. He enjoys golf, books, fly fishing and gardening. 

He is married to Millie Farmer Hightower from St. Louis, and has three children. Billy received his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University, his M.D. from the University of Virginia, completed his medical residency at Stanford University, and is an anesthesiologist with Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. He and Tira have three daughters, Eva, Claire & Tessa. Lindsay received her B.A. in Art History from Southern Methodist University, and serves as the Upper Level Director of Admissions at Casady School. She is married to Jeff Graham, attorney. They have one son, Jeffrey III. Cody received his B.A. from St. Edwards University in Austin. He is on staff of The Art, A Hotel in Denver, CO.
