To request a copy of a police record you will need to fill out a Nichols Hills Police Department "Records Request Form". This form can be picked up at the Police Department Dispatch window, or downloaded from this website (download form). Once the form is filled out, you can drop it off at the Police Department with the dispatcher (open 24 hours a day) or you can mail the form to:

Police records are released in accordance with the Oklahoma Public Records Act. If information contained in the report is considered confidential, this information will be redacted from the report. Information that will be redacted includes juvenile information, witness information, medical information, sexual assault information, contact or other personal information for victims and reporting parties, suspect information, and cases currently under investigation where the release of the information will hinder the investigation.
Accident reports are confidential for a period of sixty days after the accident. During that time, accident reports will only be released to parties involved in the accident or mentioned in Oklahoma Statute, Title 47, §40-102. |
