The City of Nichols Hills
Nancy Herzel, Chairman Mary Frates 1. Call to Order Chairman Herzel called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Acknowledgement was made by Chairman Herzel that she along with Members, Mary Frates, Peg Malloy, Pat Schonwald, and Amy Loper were present. Marty Smith arrived shortly following the vote on approval of minutes. The following members were absent: Carlene Burger, Mary Ellen Ternes, Kathy Brewer.
a. Meeting – March 23, 2011
Chairman Herzel advised the commission would discuss agenda item 5 next. (Minutes are in agenda order.) Chairman Herzel requested this item be TABLED until Member Ternes is present due to the her extensive research on behalf of this commission. Member Frates requested City Manager Poole to research the recycle bank program through Waste Connection which The Village has recently began. She advised this program is going nationwide. Discussion continued regarding the conversation of increasing the monthly recycle fee for each resident by $2. No action taken on this agenda item. 5. Discussion regarding Earth Day All members joined in a lengthy discussion of the success of the Earth Day Birthday Celebration, along with Kathy Walker speaking in agreement of the success.
Peg Malloy requested the EHS Rules and Regulations be posted on the website. Chairman Herzel advised she will put this on the agenda for next week. The pending ACOG trail grant was discussed.
