The City of Nichols Hills
Nancy Herzel, Chairman Mary Frates 1. Call to Order Chairman Herzel called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Acknowledgement was made by Chairman Herzel that she along with Members Pat Schonwald, Mary Ellen Ternes, Mary Frates and Marty Smith. Member Peg Malloy arrived around 9:10 a.m. The following members were absent: Rance Shields and Kathy Brewer. Chairman Herzel reported she received Mr. Rance Shields resignation from the board. 3. Approval of Minutes: a. Meeting – November 17, 2010 No action taken. 4. Comments by resident Judy Federa. Ms Beverly Perri spoke on behalf of Ms. Federa. The topic of discussion was the environmental impact the proposed PUD application on 63rd Street would have on the Nichols Hills community. 5. Discussion regarding OK Smoking Laws. Mary Ellen summarized the progress of the research on Oklahoma Smoking laws.
6. Discussion, Consideration and Possible action regarding February speakers. No action taken.
MOTION to seek Nichols Hills City council approval of the Environmental Guidelines was moved by Ternes, seconded by Smith. AYES: Smith, Herzel, Schonwald, Malloy, Ternes and Frates. 8. Discussion regarding recycling center.
MOTION to recommend to Nichols Hills City Council to begin informative videos to begin on the city cable channel. Moved by Malloy, seconded by Schonwald. AYES: Smith, Herzel, Schonwald, Malloy, Ternes and Frates.
Nichols Hills Earth Day celebration will be held on April 15th and 16th.
11. Discussion regarding resource list of experts and advisors. Nancy Herzel advised the commission members that per City Attorney John Michael Williams, this list can be a resource for the group. However they could not be an official group of Nichols Hills. The following individual will be invited to attend monthly EHS meetings. Rae Oldham Bill Arnold
Chairman Herzel spoke to the board about the OG & E audit and smart meters.
