In August of 2006, the City purchased an emergency notification system called "CityWatch". CityWatch gives the City the ability to create, target and send emergency and non-emergency messages to select groups or to every residence and/or business in the City.

The system can be used to send out alert messages like:

• Lost Children
• Missing Adults
• Street Closings
• Water Outages
• Crime Information
• Evacuations
• Construction Project Information
• Important Meetings
• and MUCH MORE.....

The "CityWatch" system can use a variety of technologies to make these notifications:

• Voice calls to Telephones/Cell Phones/Answering Machines
• Text to Alpha-Numeric Pagers
• Text to Cell Phone Text Messaging
• Text to PDA and other Wireless Devises
• FAX Machines
• E-Mail
