Planning & Zoning
The Planning Commission is the recommending body for all zoning applications. The Planning Commission recommends denial or approval, then the application is forwarded to the City Council. The application is ultimately decided by the City Council. Applications for a variance from the zoning requirements of the Nichols Hills are decided by the Board of Adjustment. In November of 2016, the Nichols Hills Planning Commission and City Council revised the Citys regulations for subdivision changes, which include procedures for City approval of lot-splits, lot line adjustments, combining lots, and plats. The Planning Commission is the recommending body for all subdivision applications. The Planning Commission recommends approval or denial, then the application is forwarded to the City Council.
