Grand Blvd Paving will continue Tuesday morning May 22, 2018. Grand Blvd will be closed from Nichols Road to Sherwood Lane. Sherwood Lane to NW 63rd will be closed on June 5th for concrete paving until project is completed. Projected completion date is September 1, 2018. (Project PC-1702)

1. Call to Order. Mayor Goetzinger called the meeting to order and declared a quorum present to conduct business.
2. Roll Call. A roll call reflected that Mayor Goetzinger, Vice-Mayor Clements and Councilmember Hoffman were present.
3. Citizens Desiring to be heard:
No one expressed a desired to be heard on an item not appearing on this agenda.
4. Items For Separate Vote – General:
Discussion, consideration and possible approval of the following:
a) Work Session: Discuss an ordinance regarding time limits for building and remodeling homes.
Mayor Goetzinger and other council members begin the work session, with a brief historical summary provided by City Manager David Poole and Attorney for the City Shane Pate. Continued with information of how other cities handle this type situation, the affect such an ordinance would have on builders and contractors, following by discussion among council members. Ms. Sullivan expressed her concern of the length of construction for a specific home near her. Contractor Kent Hoffman spoke to council regarding the process between building contractors and the residents.
Council discussed that historically, this issue does not occur frequently. Council members determined that rather than implementing an ordinance, perhaps a letter from the Mayor explaining the ethics of building proceeding in a timely fashion be presented at the time of issuance of a building permit.
5. Adjournment. There being no further business Mayor Goetzinger adjourned the meeting.
