Grand Blvd Paving will continue Tuesday morning May 22, 2018. Grand Blvd will be closed from Nichols Road to Sherwood Lane. Sherwood Lane to NW 63rd will be closed on June 5th for concrete paving until project is completed. Projected completion date is September 1, 2018. (Project PC-1702)

1.      Call to Order


Chairman Herzel called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. 


2.      Roll Call


Acknowledgement was made by Chairman Herzel, Peg Malloy, Mary Ellen Ternes, Carlene Burger, Lucy Covington and Marty Smith were present.­­­­­­­­­­


3.      Approval of Minutes:  February 27, 2013


APPROVED:  Burger made a MOTION to approve the February 27, 2013; the motion was seconded by Malloy. 

            AYES: Herzel, Burger, Malloy, Ternes, Smith and Covington.

                        NAYES: None


4.      Discussion, Consideration and Possible Action regarding recycling.


Members discussed the success of recycling the Christmas trees into mulch, the increase in Recycling in the Hills customer base (over 90) and the recycling line item on the utility bills where it shows $0. No action was taken.


5.      Discussion, Consideration and Possible Action regarding waste.

6.      Discussion, Consideration and Possible Action regarding new plantings & landscaping in easements.

7.      Discussion, Consideration and Possible Action regarding grey water.


Mr. Albert Janco spoke to commission members and provided grey water information.  His discussion included possible uses of grey water.  Mary Ellen shared that according to the state statue, grey water can only be used within certain parameters.  Municipalities must adopt an ordinance providing specific parameters for use in a manner consistent with state statue in order for that city to to use grey water.   Ternes moved the EHS commission look at Oasis to find an ordinance that is consistent with Oklahoma statues and would work in Nichols Hills then propose that for city council consideration, with the anticipation of forward thinking of grey water use when remodeling and/or building homes. Burger seconded the motion.



            AYES: Herzel, Burger, Malloy, Ternes, Smith and Covington.

                        NAYES: None

Members discussed possibilities of water retention concerns.
