Grand Blvd Paving will continue Tuesday morning May 22, 2018. Grand Blvd will be closed from Nichols Road to Sherwood Lane. Sherwood Lane to NW 63rd will be closed on June 5th for concrete paving until project is completed. Projected completion date is September 1, 2018. (Project PC-1702)

1. Call to Order
Chairman Herzel called the meeting to order at 8:45 a.m.
2. Roll Call
Acknowledgement was made by Chairman Herzel that she, Carlene Burger and Lucy Covington were present. Moments later Marty Smith arrived completing a quorum status. The following members were absent: Mary Ellen Ternes and Peg Malloy.
3. Approval of Minutes:
a. Meeting – May 23, 2012
APPROVED: MOTION to approve the minutes was moved by Burger, seconded by Covington. AYES: Herzel, Smith, Burger and Covington. NAYES: none.
4. Discussion, Consideration and Possible Action regarding recycling.
APPROVED: MOTION to not invest in the bins for the recycling center was moved by Covington, seconded by Smith . AYES: Herzel, Smith, Burger and Covington. NAYES: none.
Carlene Burger will visit with Goodwill regarding their recycling program and options for Nichols Hills residents.
Committee members requested city manager to provide a cost estimate for the City of Nichols Hills to provide mandatory house side recycling. Suggestions were made to send a survey inquiring as to residents’ interest in house side and/or curb side recycling with securely closed bins.
5. Discussion, Consideration and Possible Action regarding no tobacco products in parks.
Chairman Herzel discussed the proposed policy regarding no tobacco products in the park to fellow commission members. Herzel will check with the City of Oklahoma City to determine if their current park signs for no tobacco use can be copied for the City of Nichols Hills Parks. Following the discussion, MOTION to approve and recommend this policy to council was moved by Covington, seconded by Smith . AYES: Herzel, Smith and Covington. NAYES: Burger
